Taylor Art Student Receives Distinguished Recognition
Taylor High School sophomore, Camryn Mason, received a very distinguished honor. From June 2022 through May 2023, Camryn’s self-portrait will be hanging in the House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibit at the Ohio State Capitol Riffe Center. This is the first time that Taylor High School has had a student artist selected for this prestigious recognition.
The Taylor High School Art Department is led by Sue Diemer. Sue is a devoted art teacher who strives to equip every student with the resources that empower them to be the best artist they can be. One of the reasons Taylor cultivates artistic talent year after year is the fact that Yellowjackets are supported in the arts beginning in kindergarten at Three Rivers Elementary. Ms. Kelli Burichin is the elementary art teacher but also has a successful resume with many personal accolades. Her love for art filters into her students in the elementary. Students in grades five through eight are welcomed by Mrs. Amber Moore at Taylor Middle School where they are encouraged to try new things. Mrs. Moore identifies student strengths and works to prepare middle school students for high school coursework if art is a passion of theirs. Once in high school, Taylor students have Mrs. Diemer and Ms. Ferree to provide collegiate-level instruction.
Taylor receives annual recognition in the Scholastic Art Awards. This success is a direct reflection of the devoted teachers they have that are dedicated to providing quality art education to all Three Rivers students.
Camryn will represent Taylor High School at the Ohio State Capitol and Three Rivers is proud of her accomplishment.
