Taylor's Athletic Director Receives Distinguished Recognition
On Monday, March 21, 2022, the President of the Southwest Ohio Athletic Directors Association, (SWOADA) Mr. Micah Harding, M. Ed., emailed Taylor High School Principal, Mr. Mark Smiley, and Superintendent, Dr. Mark Ault, Ed.D, to notify them that Taylor’s Athletic Director, Mr. Larry Herges, M.Ed, has been named SWOADA/OIAAA Athletic Director of the Year. This recognition is a result of an annual vote from all of his peers in SWOADA. Additionally, Mr. Herges received the SWOADA Meritorious Service Awards.
While the Association selects four Athletic Directors of the Year annually, Mr. Herges received the most votes of the entire Southwest District.
In the email, Mr. Harding states, “The SWOADA Meritorious Award is presented in recognition of special contributions, leadership, and service to interscholastic athletics in the Southwest District and the recipients league and their community while The SWOADA/OIAAA Athletic Director(s) of the Year is presented to individuals who exemplify the highest standards of their profession and who, through their influence on the lives of young people under their direction, has made significant contributions to their school and community.
Mr. Herges will be presented with both awards at the Southwest District Administration Breakfast in late April. In addition, Mr. Herges will be recognized at the State OIAAA Conference in November for being named Athletic Director of the Year.
