Innovation through Exploration
10 TMS Students Visit Mt. Everest and Survive to Tell About It!
Maybe that is not entirely true. However, ten 6th grade Taylor Middle School students did get the opportunity to explore Mt. Everest using the new Google Expeditions Goggles. The program allows students to enter a geographic location and explore as if they were truly in the location. On September 17th, Taylor Middle School students took a virtual tour through Mt. Everest. As students were fully immersed in the environment, teacher, Jo Henderson, guided them through challenging questions about the harsh terrain.
Mt. Everest was the first virtual tour taken at Three Rivers, but teachers, Mrs. Henderson, and Mrs. Farris have plenty more built into the curriculum. Soon, students will explore college visits as the class discusses post-high school options.
The class will continue to push the instructional pace this year as they experience exploration through innovation!
