Auditor of State Award with Distinction
The Three Rivers Local School District has again been recognized for exemplary financial stewardship, earning the 2026 Auditor of State Award with Distinction. This marks the district’s fourth consecutive year receiving the award—an achievement accomplished by fewer than 5% of public entities across Ohio.
“This continued recognition is a direct reflection of the integrity, transparency, and precision our district prioritizes in managing public funds,” said Teri Riesenberg, Treasurer of Three Rivers Local School District. “The Auditor of State Award with Distinction is not only a tremendous honor, but also a clear testament to the collaborative commitment of our Treasurer’s Office, administration, and Board of Education. I am especially proud of our finance team, whose dedication and meticulous attention to detail make accomplishments like this possible year after year.”
To receive this honor, the district successfully met stringent criteria following a comprehensive audit conducted by the Auditor of State’s office. Key requirements include:
-
Timely submission of financial reports using GAAP through the Hinkle System;
-
Preparation of an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR);
-
An audit report free of findings for recovery, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, or questioned costs;
-
A clean management letter, free of ethical concerns or reporting issues such as delayed reconciliations or public records violations.
This achievement highlights Three Rivers’ unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible fiscal management on behalf of its students, families, staff, and community.
The district extends its appreciation to the Auditor of State’s office for this continued recognition and reaffirms its dedication to upholding the highest standards in public financial oversight.
