Music at the Parks

JUNIOR HIGH MUSIC


On Saturday, the 7th and 8th grade music students (220 students in total) competed in the Music at the Parks competition.  The competition was held at Loveland Middle School and concluded with an awards ceremony at Kings Island.

The 7th and 8th grade combined concert band earned 1st place with a SUPERIOR rating in their classification!!

The 7th grade mixed choir earned 1st place with an EXCELLENT rating in their classification!

The 8th grade mixed choir earned 2nd place with and EXCELLENT rating in their classification (only a 1/2 point away from the 7th grade choir)!!

8th Grader Collin Baines won BEST SOLOIST for his solo in the 8th grade song "Tshotsoloza"!! 

The Taylor Middle School collectively won THE ESPRIT DE CORPS award which is awarded to the school that demonstrates exemplary behavior and professionalism throughout the competition and to the school that highlighted the importance of genuine support for fellow performers while demonstrating excellence in all facets of performance both on and off stage.  This honorable distinction is presented at the awards ceremony at the conclusion of the festival.

We are so proud of our 7th and 8th grade music students for their performance AND their professionalism, supportive attitudes for one another, and excellent behavior!
