MathCounts award

Beginning in October, Math Counts Club meets weekly. They have 23 students participating virtually this school year. Taylor Middle School Advisors are Katie Sullivan, Daryl Rider, and Jo Henderson.

Taylor Middle School has been organizing and participating in this club for the past six years.

The Club has been awarded the silver and gold level award five years in a row. The silver award is based on attendance at club meetings; the gold award is a project completed by the students. This year, the club created a math vocabulary scavenger hunt with problems/solutions using photography. Students also take tests to earn a spot on the competition team. This team of four students will compete on February 5th.

Taylor Middle School was recognized on January 29th for reaching Gold Level Status in the National Math Club! The Education Coordinator with the National Math Club stated in her recognition of Taylor Middle School that, "This is an extremely commendable accomplishment." Taylor will now be nationally recognized on the MathCounts website on the list of Gold Level Schools.
