Jacket Academy 2024

Jacket Academy

In a groundbreaking move towards fostering internal growth and expertise, Three Rivers Local School District launched Jacket Academy, an annual in-house professional development event. Taking place on May 3rd, this innovative initiative will see the district's esteemed staff members engaging in a day of collaborative learning, sharing, and professional enrichment.

Recognizing the wealth of talent within its own ranks, Three Rivers has created a program that taps into the diverse skills and expertise of its educators. Instead of seeking external sources for professional development, Jacket Academy invites staff members to showcase their specialized knowledge and insights.

With 34 presenters from Three Rivers and over 50 sessions being offered, Jacket Academy provides a dynamic and comprehensive learning experience. From innovative teaching methodologies to best practices in student engagement, the event encompasses a wide array of topics tailored to meet the evolving needs of educators. All staff take the menu of sessions and select options that best meet their professional development needs.

Jacket Academy represents a bold step towards reimagining professional development within the education sector, placing emphasis on internal resources and collective expertise. We are grateful to Dr. Ault for bringing the idea to the District and to Megan Rivet for implementing the annual event. A huge thank you also goes to all of the presenters who were willing to bravely accepted the opportunity to share their strengths with others.
