Congratulations to Our DECA Competition Winners!
The Great Oaks–Taylor High School DECA Chapter showcased their skills at the District 5 Competition on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, and continued our tradition of excellence! DECA, an international organization for business, marketing, and finance students, challenges members to apply their knowledge in competitive events. This year, all of our members took on the challenge of a role-play event, which included a 100-question test and a real-world business scenario.
We are thrilled to announce that 11 of our outstanding students, led by teacher Katy Heller, have qualified for the DECA Career Development Conference (CDC) in Columbus, Ohio, on March 11-12. Their hard work and dedication have paid off.
Congratulations to our CDC qualifiers:
Vince Rizzo – 4th Place, Accounting
Olivia Doogan – 2nd Place, Business Finance
Bella Mastruserio – 4th Place, Food Marketing
Nicole Myers – 2nd Place, Restaurant and Food Service Management

Jackson Meibers & Ethan Thomas – 2nd Place, Business Law and Ethics Team
