Art in Root 2019

On the first day of October, the Painting, Sculpture and Advanced Drawing students from Taylor High School visited Shawnee Run, one of the many Great Parks of Hamilton County.  With the help of a naturalist, they hiked a trail, explored, photographed, and sketched some nature-inspired ideas.  These students are participating in "Art in Root", a program designed by the Great Parks of Hamilton County.   
 
The Great Parks mission isn't just preserving nature and providing education for future generations; it's also committed to supporting the arts.  "Art in Root" is a 3-step program designed to create connections between high school students and nature through art.  This program features a combination of a field trip to a park, an in-class visit, and an art exhibition to immerse students in nature and translate their experiences into fine art.  This year, artists will be working with the theme of 'The Nature of Us' and will create artwork that explores the relationship between humans and nature, and our impact on the earth.
