Wreath Ceremony
Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States of America, implemented a wreath laying program for our deceased presidents. The great city of North Bend, Ohio has the honor of being the home to our 9th President, William Henry Harrison. Since we have this distinction, we have the honor to hold a yearly wreath laying ceremony.
On February 3, 2017 North Bend will conduct the yearly wreath laying ceremony to commemorate Harrison’s 244th birthday. The event will start at 10:30am at the North Bend Municipal Building. A memorial walk will begin at 10:45 and end at Harrison’s Tomb on Cliff Rd. The wreath laying ceremony will start at the tomb where General R.A. Bassford will speak and lay the wreath. This part of the event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Mayor of North Bend and Mrs. Harrison (Susan Bell) will accompany the General and say a few words to conclude the ceremony. The Three Rivers School District will provide a post-ceremony lunch at the educational campus. The luncheon is by invitation only. To end the event, General R.A. Bassford will speak to students at an assembly on campus around 1:00 p.m.
