THS Student Advances to the American Invitational Mathematics Exam
Taylor High School is excited to announce that they were recently made aware of an exceptional student achievement. Lee Garber-Ford scored within the top five percent nationally on the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 12). Lee’s score qualified him to participate in the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). He will represent Taylor High School on February 8th at Sycamore High School.
Following the AIME competition, top-scoring students will be invited to compete in the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). USAMO is the world’s largest community of mathematicians, students, and enthusiasts. Their mission is to advance the understanding of mathematics and its impact on our world and they envision a society that values the power and beauty of mathematics fully realizes its potential to promote human flourishing.
