Three Rivers Community Garden Dedication
Three Rivers Memorial Garden Dedication
During the summer of 2020, Three Rivers suffered a loss to the entire school community. At the age of 15, Nick Cordrey passed away. Nick was an amazing young man who showed strong characteristics in leadership, concern for others, work ethic, and athleticism on top of being a talented soccer player who had a love for politics.
Nick would be a senior this year so his family and friends wanted to provide something special to the community to maintain his legacy. During the September 24th Taylor Boys Soccer game, the District and Cordrey family dedicated the new Three Rivers Memorial Garden in Memory of Nicholas R. Cordrey.
Many of the Cordrey's family and friends attended the event where Superintendent, Dr. Mark Ault, and Nick's mother, Aimee Cordrey, spoke in remembrance of Nick. Additionally, the entire Ross Soccer team came over and respectfully gave their attention in support of the Cordrey family and Taylor Soccer Program. The Ross team extended their condolences by giving flowers to Mrs. Cordrey.
No school, family, or community can ever overcome the loss of a child. However, seeing not only the Three Rivers Community but also the Ross Soccer Team and coaches come together, reminds you how important a close-knit community is during difficult times.
