Welcome From TMS
Hello Families of Taylor Middle School,
Mrs. Holly Simms & Mr. Kevin Cook would like to welcome everyone to Taylor Middle School for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. We are so happy for the return of our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, and welcome our incoming 5th graders. We are so excited to have you with us!
Summer is always a time of transition at TMS. We would like to extend our congratulations to both Dave Henderson and Michelle Joseph on their retirements and offer special thanks for the many years and countless hours they dedicated to our students here at the middle school. That being said, Mr. Henderson isn’t going too far. He will return next year to partner with Pam Wray in serving as counselors to our 7th and 8th graders. They will work alongside Alex Lippert, who will continue to work with our 5th and 6th graders.
We are also excited to welcome several new teachers to our building. We have three new teachers joining our 6th grade team. David Dransman will be teaching math and Rachael Petranek will be teaching English/Language Arts. Samantha Schoster is also joining to teach 6th grade social studies teacher. Last, but certainly not least, Joseph Rivers will be working with our students for several periods a day in band and choir.
Our new teachers, as well as our returning staff, will continue to engage our students in challenging, high-quality instruction. They will give our students the opportunity to learn, grow, and become lifelong learners. Our students will also be given many options and opportunities to connect further with us at Taylor Middle School and with their Three Rivers Community.
Last year we were able to bring back our 5th/6th grade game nights as well as our 7th/8th grade dances! We look forward to doing them, as well as several other events, again this year. Dates will be sent out with the newsletters, so watch for those in the near future.
Without our community support, we could not make this possible: The Elementary/Middle School PTO, The Children’s Home Of Cincinnati, our local churches, and local businesses. Thank you to the many community organizations (too many to be named here) for helping and supporting our students. Thanks to everyone and Go Jackets!
