ADVISORY PROGRAM/ HOMEROOM
The purpose of Taylor High School’s advisory program is to enhance our guidance services by providing opportunities for both grade–specific educational activities and informal communication between teachers and students. Many meetings and activities that previously took away from class time will also take place during this period. Students will participate in various activities that will encourage academic, social, and emotional development.
Research indicates that one of the principal conditions for student success in school is a meaningful connection with an adult. An advisory program makes it more possible for our students to have such a connection and to experience more success and fulfillment both during high school and after graduation. Students will meet with their advisor daily and will participate in a 30 minute extended advisory period once a week.
