If your child has been identified as a close contact with someone at school and develops symptoms, please email lwhiteley@trlsd.org to obtain a letter from the Department of Health to take with you to your physician. Anyone identified as a close contact will receive a call and email from the District by 4:00 pm on school days.

Test to Play
Asymptomatic students may continue to participate in extracurricular activities if they do the following:
● Wear a mask when able (this includes transportation, locker rooms, sitting/standing on the sidelines, and anytime the mask will not interfere with breathing, the activity, or create a safety hazard).
● Test on initial notification of exposure to COVID-19 and test negative.
● Testing again on day 5 after exposure is recommended.
This test can be a PCR or Antigen but must be proctored (for at-home testing) or done by a healthcare provider.

Dear Three Rivers Students, Parents, and Staff,
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued guidance on the definition of essential critical infrastructure workers. CISA promotes the ability of such workers to continue to work during periods of community restriction, access management, social distancing, or closure orders/directives.
Three Rivers has been identified as a critical infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic. This distinction has been made after appropriately balancing public safety, the health and safety of the workforce, and the continued delivery of essential critical infrastructure services and functions. Critical infrastructures are imperative during the response to the COVID-19 emergency for both public health and safety as well as community well-being. Teachers and staff have a special responsibility in these times to continue to operate. Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH) has been working with Three Rivers Schools closely to effectively isolate the case and quarantine those identified as close contacts.
The teacher and staff member that have been named as close contacts to a positive case of COVID-19 will be allowed to work at this time as long as they do not develop symptoms. The workers will follow guidance from the CDC, ODH, and HCPH to limit disease spread at the facility. The employees will comply with applicable OSHA requirements for protecting critical infrastructure workers and attendees who remain on or return to the facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. The facility must implement the public health recommendations for source control in their community.

No-Cost, At-Home COVID-19 Tests Now Available to Order Online
The federal website for ordering at-home COVID-19 tests has officially launched today. Order your free COVID tests (limit of 4 per household) now through COVIDTests.gov
To place an order, all you need is your name and residential address. No ID, credit card, or health insurance information is required. You may also share your email address to get updates on your order. These tests will be delivered in the mail through the U.S. Postal Service and will typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering.
All tests distributed as part of this program are FDA-authorized at-home rapid antigen tests. You will not be able to choose the brand you order as part of this program. The tests available for order:
Are rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR
Can be taken anywhere
Give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required)
Work whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms
Work whether or not you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines

Three Rivers Return to School Plan
Please know that while much of the Three Rivers Local School District Plan indicates that decisions will be made per individual family discretion, please know the District will not tolerate bullying or harassing of any student or staff member for their beliefs and ideology regarding their personal health and safety. One of the District’s core values is to nurture inclusion; we believe that everyone should be welcomed back into a safe, friendly, and supportive school community.
WHAT WILL REMAIN THE SAME FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR?
While the many changes last school year were frustrating and sometimes overwhelming, some made sense for long-term planning; especially considering we are still facing new COVID cases in Hamilton County. Many of the practices and protocols that we are continuing to implement align with the Ohio Department of Health’s COVID guidance released on July 26, 2021.
PPE and Cleaning:
For the 2021-2022 school year, Three Rivers will continue to provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) using ESSER Funds. The District purchased hand sanitizer, sanitizer stations, cleaning supplies, face coverings, and many other items to help in reducing the transmission of the virus. We find no reason to not continue to have those items readily available to our staff and students. Additionally, the custodial team will continue to clean and sanitize throughout the school day, focusing on high-touch areas. At night, the new cleaning equipment that was purchased to sanitize during COVID last year will continue to be used. As handwashing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of infectious disease, students will continue to be encouraged to frequently wash their hands when possible and use sanitizer often throughout the school day.
Social Distancing:
All students and staff will be encouraged to social distance when possible. Some teachers may also leave up plastic desk shields to reduce the spread of germs. Students and staff are encouraged to wear masks when social distancing is not possible.
Quarantines

The District will continue to notify families when their child is identified as a close contact in school. All bus riders will be notified everytime there is a positive case reported from an individual on the bus.
The same guidelines for school will remain consistent for athletics and other extracurricular activities. ODH states that students should refrain from these activities when they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and should be tested. Additionally, the use of masking and social distancing to the extent possible is recommended during indoor sports and other high-risk activities.
Three Rivers will continue to be transparent with any reported positive COVID case by continuing to update the cumulative and weekly slides found on the Three Rivers COVID-19 site. Letters are written and displayed (by the end of each school day) on this site as well every time a positive case is reported.
Campus Visitors:
We ask that all visitors call and make an appointment before coming to campus. Our goal is to welcome families onto campus for as many in-person celebrations as possible; additionally, new streaming equipment is being purchased to continue live streaming events. We believe that this was something we learned to be of great value for the future of Three Rivers. We had many out-of-town family members who were able to watch their students being celebrated in real-time. Additionally, streaming as many events as possible allows for family members who are not comfortable being in public places to still be able to attend such events virtually.
Drinking Fountains and Fill Stations:

Thanks to the PTO, there are now water fill stations throughout the campus. Students are encouraged to continue bringing their water bottles to school and filling them as needed throughout the school day.
Breakfast:
Elementary students will continue to have a “grab and go” breakfast. Beginning at 8:30 am, students can pick up their breakfast bags and take them to their homeroom to enjoy. Middle school and high school students can get breakfast beginning at 7:30 am.
WHAT WILL CHANGE FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR?
Face Coverings:
Three Rivers will be following the CDC’s (Center for Disease Control) guidance by recommending that anyone not vaccinated wear masks. Masks will only be required on a Three Rivers bus or van, per federal law. If any student or staff member wants to wear a mask but forgets to bring one to school, the District will provide one.
Temperature Checks:
As always, students should remain at home when feeling ill or running a fever. Three Rivers will not be requiring teachers to take daily temperature checks of students upon arrival. If students do not feel well during the school day, they should go to the school health clinic. As always, if the nurse deems the child sick or he/she is running a fever, the clinic will call a guardian to have the child picked up.
Families are encouraged to speak with healthcare providers when experiencing any covid-related symptoms. We ask that families continue to notify the District of any student who tests positive for COVID-19. This will allow other students who may have been in close contact to be notified. Anonymity is always ensured when communicating positive cases.
Backpacks and Lockers:
Although clear backpacks are not required, please default to each building's communication for specific rules. Lockers (grades 5-12) will be available for use; please see individual building communication for locker plans and procedures. Elementary students will continue to use individual cubbies for their personal items.
Three Rivers Local School District will follow mandates should they be issued by the federal government, Ohio Governor, Ohio State Health Department, or the Hamilton County Health Department throughout the year. Consequently, we know we may need to be flexible and adjust accordingly should new requirements change current plans.

How can parents access mental health supports through our District's partner, Best Point Behavioral Health (Children's Home), for children during this period?
Best Point Behavioral Health (by The Children’s Home) is still open and providing services. When schools were cancelled and restrictions regarding face to face interactions were put into place, the agency prioritized the implementation of Telehealth so they would be able to continue service delivery. They have a Telehealth service they are able to use for video conferencing with clients and families called Updox. They are able to provide counseling, school-based day treatment services, care coordination, and medication management services through this platform. The Three Rivers team is actively reaching out to families to provide ongoing services via telehealth – through phone or video conferencing. Provider expectations are that they are delivering the services as planned, via telehealth, as long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place.
